'She loves me not’ brings together the work of 20+ artists, that engage with the long-standing theme of flowers. Flowers have long been—and remain—a recurring motif in art, symbolizing a wide range of meanings.
In the history of Western art, flowers were often used in still lifes to symbolize the fragility of life, the passage of time, and the transience of beauty. In the 19th and 20th Century flowers no longer served only as symbols of natural beauty; they became vehicles for deeper psychological and existential exploration. Today, flowers continue to inspire contemporary artists and remain a powerful symbol in art. Their diversity and universality make them an endlessly adaptable motif—one that invites both reflection and reinvention.
The exhibition brings forth a vast field of flowers, where various artists explore different media, styles, and approaches, much like a garden filled with a diverse array of flowers and plants.
